Dr Geoff Mitchell is Professor of General Practice and Palliative Care, University of Queensland.
His main research interest is in the role of General Practitioners in palliative care, cancer in general, and complex conditions. Current research includes interventions to improve outcomes for caregivers with advanced cancer, health services research in palliative care and primary care, the management of Chronic Kidney disease, and single patient trials.
As of June 2015, he has published 160 peer-reviewed papers and 28 book chapters. Book Publications include contributions to Therapeutic Guidelines Palliative Care; Chapters in books on health services in cancer and evidence based clinical practice texts, and editing the textbook Palliative care: a patient centered-approach. He has co-edited a book on n of 1 trials to be published in 2015. Geoff has been a CI on over $23m of research funding, including being CI on three Centres of research excellence in Primary-Secondary integration, End of life care and Chronic Kidney disease.
He maintains a clinical general practice in Ipswich, Queensland.
